Luis Cuara Dies in 3-Vehicle Crash on West Ball Road [Anaheim, CA]
DUI Collision on West Ball Road Left Los Angeles Resident Killed
ANAHEIM, CA (December 14, 2021) – A three-vehicle crash on West Ball Road claimed the life of 49-year-old Luis Cuara early Monday morning.
The accident took place at the intersection of West Ball Road and South Magnolia Avenue at 1:53 a.m. December 5th.
According to the CHP, the crash started when a 28-year-old Anaheim man driving a black Nissan Murano westbound on Ball Road ran a red light at the junction.
The Nissan then crashed into a black 2016 Honda Accord. One of the cars then struck a Toyota Camry stopped for the red light facing Magnolia Avenue.
Responding officers arrived and declared one passenger of the Honda dead at the scene. Meanwhile, medics took three other men in the Honda to hospitals with minor injuries.
Authorities later identified the deceased victim as 49-year-old Luis Cuara from L.A.
Officers stated that while no one sustained injuries in the Toyota Camry, fire rescuers had to extract a person trapped in one of the vehicles.
Eventually, CHP arrested the driver of the Murano on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
Anaheim Officials continue to investigate the fatal incident.
