Vehicles Collide in Fiery Accident on 395 Freeway [Inyo County, CA]
Road Closed after Fiery Crash on U.S. 395
INYO COUNTY, CA (December 3, 2021) – Wednesday morning, two vehicles collided and caused a fiery accident on 395 Freeway, in Inyo County.
The accident took place around 11:40 a.m., on U.S. 395 near Olancha. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after.
According to reports, a tractor-trailer driver heading north on US 395 failed to notice traffic that had stopped for a construction zone. As a result, the driver collided with the rear of a travel trailer at 50 mph.
The impact pushed both the pickup-truck and travel trailer collided into a Toyota SUV that was stopped in traffic. Both cars burst into flames after ending on the northbound shoulder of the highway.
Firefighters arrived on the scene and quickly extinguished a minor brush fire caused by the crash. Meanwhile, officials said no one involved sustained serious injuries.
Furthermore, officers said the incident prompted road closure for about six hours but has since reopened.
At this time, Inyo County police continue to investigate the cause of the fiery collision.
