64-Year-Old Man Died in Accident at Bus Stop

PHOENIX, AZ (November 10, 2021) – Saturday November 6th, Javier Saavedra died after being hit by vehicle while sitting at a bus stop.

The accident happened at around 3:15 p.m. at the area of 16th Street and Southern Avenue.

Officers arrived on the scene and found a box truck towing a vehicle dolly driving southbound on 16th Street.

The truck then swerved across opposite traffic lanes and onto the 16th Street sidewalk, colliding with a bus stop and a pedestrian. Killing 61-year-old Javier Saavedra.

According to authorities, Brandon Seymour,24, driving a box truck was examined for impairment and later booked into Maricopa County Jail.

Seymour is facing a number of allegations, including homicide and narcotics violations.

An investigation is now underway.
