2 Killed in Fiery Crash on Wells Road [Ventura, CA]
Fiery Crash on Wells Road Involving a Big-Rig Left Two Fatalities, Including Ruben F. Hernandez
VENTURA, CA (November 3, 2021) – A fiery crash on Wells Road claimed the lives of two men last Friday night.
The crash happened just before 10 p.m. on Wells Road, where it crosses over Highway 126 in the Saticoy area.
According to the CHP, two Oxnard men in a 2003 Mitsubishi Montero SUV died at the scene.
Later on, officials identified the driver as 33-year-old Ruben F. Hernandez.
Meanwhile, authorities only describe his passenger as a 22-year-old man.
Investigators later determined that Hernandez Drove southbound on Wells Road when it crashed into the left rear of a 2017 Freightliner semi trailer.
As a result, the Mitsubishi caught on fire leaving the two Mitsubishi occupants with fatal injuries.
Meanwhile, the big-rig driver remains uninjured.
Ventura Officials are now working to identify the circumstances surrounding the fiery crash.
