1 Dead, 1 Hospitalized after Collision on South McCarran Boulevard [Reno, NV]
Passenger Killed in Fatal DUI Accident on Lakeside Drive in Reno
RENO, NV (October 28, 2021) – Early Friday morning, one person was killed and another was hurt in a collision on South McCarran Boulevard.
The accident took place around 1:00 a.m., at the intersection of S. McCarran Boulevard and Lakeside Drive. First responders arrived to the scene shortly after.
Per reports, the collision involved a white car and a black pickup-truck. However, the events leading up to the crash remain unclear.
Medics pronounced one passenger dead at the scene, due to the extent of their condition. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and suffered non life-threatening injuries.
Officers also say the driver of the one of the involved vehicles remained on scene and cooperated with the authorities.
In addition, investigators confirmed that alcohol, speed, and a red light violation all played a role in the incident.
At this time, no arrests have been made pending completion of the investigation. Additionally, authorities have not yet released the identities of those involved in the crash.
