Fatal Multi-Car Accident on Highway 137

TULARE COUNTY, CA (October 19, 2021) – Friday morning, one person was killed and another was hurt in a two-vehicle crash on Road 68.

The crash happened just before 2:00 a.m.,  at the intersection of Highway 137 and Road 68. Dispatchers responded to the area shortly after.

According to authorities, a Nissan Pathfinder was heading south on Road 68. At the intersection of Highway 137, the driver failed to stop at a red light and struck an eastbound Chevy Silverado.

Per reports, the Nissan driver was not wearing a seatbelt. As a result, he was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the male driver of the Chevy sustained critical injuries. He was taken to Kaweah Health Center for further treatment.

At this time, officers are still investigating what caused the two-vehicle crash on Road 68. It is currently unknown whether drugs or alcohol played a role.
