Man Killed in Fatal Bicycle Accident on 18th Avenue in Phoenix

PHOENIX, AZ (October 15, 2021) – Thursday night, a male bicyclist was fatally struck in a deadly collision on Thomas Road.

Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after 7:00 p.m., at the intersection of 18th Avenue and Thomas Road.

Officers say a man was riding his bicycle in the area when he was struck by a passing vehicle. However, further details leading up to the crash remain unclear.

Paramedics arrived and performed life-saving measures on the severely injured bicyclist. Due to the extent of his condition, the man was pronounced dead by medics on scene.

Authorities closed the surrounding area during cleanup and preliminary duties. But, the road has since reopened to traffic.
