Isaias Hernandez Killed in Crash on Tennyson Road [Hayward, CA]
Hayward Collision Left San Mateo Man Dead
HAYWARD, CA (October 8, 2021) – Saturday morning, Isaias Hernandez of San Mateo, was killed in a deadly crash on Tennyson Road.
According to reports, the collision happened around 6:08 a.m., near the intersection of Tennyson Road and Hesperian Boulevard. Crews responded to the scene shortly after.
Hernandez was driving a car west on Tennyson Road. There, he broadsided the trailer of a semi-truck that was heading north on Hesperian Boulevard.
As a result, 26-year-old Isaias Hernandez and his 25-year-old passenger became trapped inside the vehicle.
Eventually, Hayward firefighters managed to extract the two occupants. They were transported to Eden Hospital for further treatment of serious wounds.
Due to the extent of his condition, Hernandez died at the hospital. Meanwhile, his female passenger was listed in a stable condition with major injuries.
In addition, the 51-year-old semi-truck driver remained uninjured and believed he was at fault for the fatal collision.
Authorities believe that alcohol contributed to the incident. However, more information will be provided once available.
