Pedestrian Vs. Sedan Collision near Slippery Ford Road Left Man Seriously Injured
EL DORADO COUNTY, CA (February 20, 2025) – Friday morning, a pedestrian accident on Highway 50 left a male driver fixing his tire chains with significant injuries.
Officers responded to the scene around 10:00 a.m., near Slippery Ford Road in the Twin Bridges area.
Investigators learned that a red Subaru Impreza hit a man putting chains on his silver Nissan Rogue on the highway shoulder.
According to reports, the Subaru was traveling at about 45-50 mph at a required 25 mph speed limit.
Police said the Subaru driver lost control of his vehicle and veered onto the shoulder, hitting the man and his Nissan.
Responding medical personnel transported the man to a hospital for treatment of significant injuries. Meanwhile, the three juveniles and an adult woman inside the Nissan remained uninjured.
Following the crash, the Subaru driver stayed at the site of the incident and cooperated with the authorities.
El Dorado County officials do not suspect intoxication to be a factor in the pedestrian accident. The Highway 50 remained closed for at least an hour as crews cleared the scene.
