Man Pronounced Dead after SUV vs Pedestrian Collision near East 5th Street

OXNARD, CA (February 19, 2025) – Early Sunday morning, Cesar Rangel was involved in a deadly pedestrian collision on Rose Avenue.

The incident happened around 4:50 a.m., in the area of East 5th Street and Rose Avenue, just south of Eastman Drive. 

Upon further investigation, officers learned that an eastbound white Honda Pilot hit a man crossing in an unmarked crosswalk. 

Responding medical personnel declared the victim dead at the scene. His identity remains undisclosed to the public. 

Police said the driver of the Honda, identified as 29-year-old Cesar Rangel of Oxnard, remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.
