28-Year-Old Lost Hills Man Pronounced Dead after Two-Vehicle Collision near Martin Avenue
BAKERSFIELD, CA (February 19, 2025) – Sunday evening, German Garcia was fatally struck in a motorcycle collision on Highway 46.
California Highway Patrol officers responded to the scene around 6:04 p.m., near Martin Avenue.
Based on the police report, an eastbound 1994 Honda off-road motorcycle broadsided a westbound Honda Civic.
Investigators say the motorcyclist was speeding while the Civic driver was attempting to make a left turn onto Martin Avenue.
Responding emergency personnel declared the Honda motorcycle driver dead at the scene. Later, the Kern County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased rider as 28-year-old Garcia, of Lost Hills.
Police said the Honda Civic driver suffered minor injuries from the crash.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor in the incident.
