29-Year-Old La Habra Man Pronounced Dead after Two-Vehicle Collision near Warner Avenue

IRVINE, CA (February 18, 2025) – Early Monday morning, a head-on collision on Jamboree Road claimed the life of Joshua Kevin Soto. 

The deadly crash happened around 1:35 a.m., just south of Warner Avenue. 

Upon further investigation, police determined that a southbound Hyundai Elantra went into the northbound lanes for reasons unknown. 

As a result, the Hyundai collided head-on with another vehicle traveling in the opposite direction. 

First responders transported the Elantra driver to an area hospital where he later died from his injuries. Police said the driver of the second vehicle did not sustain any injuries from the crash. 

Later, the Orange County Sheriff’s Coroner’s Department identified the Hyundai driver as 29-year-old Joshua Kevin Soto of La Habra.

Authorities are working to determine whether drugs or alcohol contributed to the incident. Irvine officials will provide more information once available.
