Three Hospitalized after Stop-Sign Collision near Maple Avenue

DALLAS, TX (February 19, 2025) – Saturday evening, three people sustained injuries in a stop-sign crash on Hawthorne Avenue.

The incident occurred around 9:40 p.m., near Maple Avenue on February 8th.

Investigators say the collision involved a Dallas Fire-Rescue ambulance and another vehicle.

Preliminary investigation showed that the ambulance was responding to a call with its lights and sirens on traveling southbound in the 4600 block of Maple Avenue.

Meanwhile, the other vehicle was traveling in the 2400 Hawthorne Avenue and attempted to turn left onto Maple Avenue and ran through the stop-sign. There, the two vehicles collided.

Upon impact, the driver of the vehicle suffered critical injuries and two paramedics sustained minor wounds. They were all transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

No additional information was added by investigators, and the Dallas Police Department is handling further investigation.
