Man Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Accident on Highway 99 North On-Ramp [Merced, CA]
Unidentified Man Pronounced Dead after Auto-Pedestrian Collision near Yosemite Parkway
MERCED, CA (February 13, 2025) – Monday evening, a pedestrian accident on Highway 99 north onramp took the life of one man.
California Highway Patrol officers responded to the scene around 8:20 p.m., near Yosemite Parkway after receiving multiple dispatch calls.
Based on reports, the driver of a westbound vehicle hit a man walking across the Highway 99 on-ramp in an easterly direction.
Investigators say the man was wearing dark clothing and the area had limited lighting.
Despite the life-saving efforts of the paramedics, the male pedestrian died at the scene. Although, officers have not yet released his name or place of residency.
Emergency crews shut down the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. Authorities are asking those who witnessed the Highway 99 pedestrian crash to call Officer Bautista at 209-356-6600.
