12-Year-Old Boy Injured in Pedestrian Crash near New River Road

NEW RIVER, AZ (February 13, 2025) – Early Thursday morning, one boy sustained injuries in a pedestrian collision on 31st Avenue.

Authorities responded to the scene around 7:00 a.m., near New River Road on January 30th.

Investigators say the driver of a sedan struck the 12-year-old boy who was crossing the road towards his school bus at the time.

Upon impact, the boy suffered critical injuries, and paramedics transported him to Phoenix Children’s Hospital. He is now in stable condition, per the report.

Meanwhile, the involved driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Distracted driving was suspected as the factor, and further investigation is ongoing.
