Maria De La Luz Roman Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on Vista Del Sol [El Paso, TX]
90-Year-Old Passenger Pronounced Dead after Two-Vehicle Collision on Lomaland Drive
EL PASO, TX (February 12, 2025) – Early Sunday evening, Maria De La Luz Roman was killed in a two-vehicle collision on Vista Del Sol.
El Paso Police Officers responded to the 11000 block of Vista Del Sol near Lomaland Drive around 5:00 p.m., on February 2nd.
According to troopers, the 37-year-old female driver of a 2007 Lincoln Navigator was heading west on Vista Del Sol, and attempted to turn onto Lomaland without yielding to the right of way.
As a result, the Lincoln collided with an eastbound 2012 Hyundai Tucson at the intersection. Investigators say the Hyundai was driven by a 64-year-old woman with 90-year-old De La Luz Roman as a passenger.
Due to the impact of the crash, all three occupants sustained injuries.
Consequently, paramedics transported all of them to a nearby hospital for further treatment. The two drivers sustained minor injuries, but, De La Luz Roman succumbed to her injuries and died.
No additional update were released by the authorities, and further investigation is currently ongoing.
