51-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Collision near Sueirro Street

HAYWARD, CA (February 12, 2025) – Tuesday morning, a man was fatally struck in a hit-and-run on Hesperian Boulevard.

Police officers responded to the scene around 6:56 a.m., near Sueirro Street.

Based on the initial investigation, the driver of an unidentified SUV hit the pedestrian and fled the scene. Upon arrival, first responders discovered the man left lying in the center median with life-threatening injuries. 

Despite the life-saving efforts of the medical personnel, the victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Officials only identified the deceased victim as a 51-year-old man. His name remains undisclosed to the public at this time. 

Police are currently searching for the driver of a white, medium-sized SUV, last seen traveling southbound on Hesperian Boulevard from Sueirro Street. 

Emergency crews shut down the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. Those who witnessed the Hesperian Boulevard hit-and-run can call the Hayward Police at (510) 293-7066.
