19-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Crash near Del Amo Avenue

TUSTIN, CA (February 12, 2025) – Sunday morning, Imanol Gonzalez was killed and Carlos Coronel was arrested after a hit-and-run on Nisson Road.

Police officers responded to the scene shortly before 4:00 a.m., near Del Amo Avenue. 

Responding officers discovered the victim lying on the roadway along with debris from a vehicle. The scene suggested that the pedestrian was involved in a hit-and-run crash. 

Responding paramedics from the Orange County Fire Authority pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Officials later identified the deceased pedestrian as 19-year-old Imanol Salvador Gonzalez of Santa Ana.

Upon further investigation, police determined that the suspect was driving a black 2021 Chevrolet Silverado crew cab pickup. 

The owner of the Silverado, later identified as LAPD sergeant Carlos Gonzalo Coronel of Buena Park, was subsequently arrested. Authorities booked Coronel into Orange County Jail.
