Two Pronounced Dead after Pickup-Truck Accident near Farm-to-Market 1629

FANNIN COUNTY, TX (February 11, 2025) – Saturday afternoon, Joe Miller and Jackie Dewoody died in a car collision on State Highway 121.

The incident happened near Farm-to-Market Road 1629 on February 1st.

Authorities say the crash involved a GMC Sierra driven by Miller with his passenger Dewoody. In addition, 16-year-old Patrick Hamm was driving a Dodge Ram.

Investigators say Miller failed to yield to the right-of-way at the intersection and collided with Hamm.

Due to the impact of the crash, 58-year-old Miller, of Bonham died at the scene. Meanwhile, responders transported 82-year-old Dewoody, of Mesquite to Texoma Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries.

Moreover, Hamm sustained serious injuries and received treatment afterwards. No other information was added by the authorities, and the crash remains under investigation.
