Francisco Medellin Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash on South Sam Houston Parkway [Houston, TX]
44-Year-Old Driver Pronounced Dead after Speeding Accident near Sabo Road
HOUSTON, TX (February 11, 2025) – Friday evening, a multi-vehicle crash on South Sam Houston Parkway claimed the life of Francisco Medellin.
The incident happened around 7:00 p.m., in the 11400 block of South Sam Houston Parkway near Sabo Road on January 31st.
According to the Houston Police Department, a Chevrolet Cavalier driven by 44-year-old Medellin with a 9-year-old passenger was stopped at a red light.
Furthermore, a black Lexus RX350 driven by a woman was driving at high speeds and crashed into the Cavalier. Upon impact, the Cavalier overturned and ended up on a sidewalk.
A Chevrolet Tahoe and a Ford Crown Victoria were involved in the collision but they were not heavily damaged.
Eventually, Medellin was pronounced dead at the scene, and his passenger was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
At this time, it was unknown if the Lexus driver faced any charges, and the crash remains under active investigation.
