25-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Crash near West Miracle Mile
PHOENIX, AZ (February 11, 2025) – Thursday, Antonio Dorame died and Juan Carlos Urquidez was arrested after DUI crash on North Oracle Road.
The incident occurred around 7:00 p.m., near West Miracle Mile on February 6th.
Investigators say 21-year-old Urquidez was speeding down North Oracle Road when he ran past a red-light and and crashed into a vehicle turning left onto Oracle, causing a three-car collision.
In addition, Dorame was struck as he was crossing outside of a marked crosswalk. Despite life-saving efforts, medics pronounced 25-year-old Dorame deceased at the scene.
Emergency responders rushed Urquidez to Banner-University Medical Center, where a DUI officer confirmed his impairment.
Following preliminary duties, Urquidez was booked into Pima County Jail on charges of manslaughter, four counts of aggravated assault, four counts of felony endangerment, and felony criminal damage.
The crash is under investigation, and authorities will offer further details once they become available.
