24-Year-Old Man Fatally Struck by Several Vehicles in Pedestrian Accident near 605 Freeway

BALDWIN PARK, CA (February 10, 2025) – Early Tuesday morning, Sonny Provencio was killed in a pedestrian accident on 10 Freeway.

California Highway Patrol officers responded to the scene around 2:09 a.m., in the area of the San Bernardino (10) Freeway and San Gabriel River (605) Freeway.

Upon arrival, officers learned that multiple eastbound vehicles hit a person walking on the freeway transition road. 

First responders pronounced the victim dead at the scene. It was unclear if the drivers involved in the incident remained at the site of the incident. 

Later, the Los Angeles County Office of Medical Examiner identified the deceased victim as 24-year-old Sonny Provencio. 

Officials issued a SigAlert closing four lanes of the transition road from the eastbound 10 Freeway to the 605 Freeway.
