One Killed, One Injured in Two-Vehicle Collision near Interstate 20

SMITH COUNTY, TX (February 6, 2025) – Tuesday evening, the police responded to a crash on Farm-to-Market Road 2015.

According to the Smith County Emergency Services District 2, the incident involving two vehicles happened on January 28th just before 8:20 p.m.

Upon arrival, the troopers found a passenger vehicle slammed into a pickup truck. Investigation showed that the car headed southbound while the pickup truck headed north.

Furthermore, the car struck a deer and veered over to the northbound lanes, resulting in the collision.

The driver of the car suffered critical injuries which he later succumbed to and died. The pickup-truck driver suffered injuries and was taken to the hospital.

At this time, the identity of the deceased victim was not yet released, and further investigation is still ongoing.

Emergency crews shut down the surrounding area on Farm-to-Market Road 2015 for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. Once available, more details will be provided to the public.
