65-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Electric-Scooter Collision on Judge Ely Boulevard

ABILENE, TX (February 6, 2025) – Sunday evening, one person was injured in an electric-scooter crash on Judge Ely Boulevard.

The Abilene Police Department responded to the scene just before 9:30 p.m., on January 26th.

Furthermore, the rider of an electric mobility scooter was heading west in an unmarked crosswalk with poor light.

In addition, the man was wearing dark-colored clothing and had no lights or a reflective device.

There, the driver of a southbound SUV struck the scooter rider, causing suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Paramedics transported the victim to the hospital for treatment.

No updates on the condition of the victim was released yet, and the crash remains under investigation.
