Alexa Krynicki Involved, Xavier Borunda Arrested after Police Pursuit Crash on 19th Street [Lubbock, TX]
22-Year-Old Man Faces Multiple Charges after Pursuit Collision near University Avenue
LUBBOCK, TX (February 5, 2025) – Wednesday, Xavier Borunda was arrested and Alexa Krynicki was involved in a pursuit crash on 19th Street.
The incident occurred at approximately 7:00 p.m., near University Avenue on January 22nd.
Per reports, 22-year-old Borunda made an unsafe lane change and an officer attempted to stop him. However, Borunda initially stopped at the Texas Tech campus, refused to cooperate, and led the officer to a pursuit.
Borunda then drove onto University Avenue and crashed into a vehicle driven by 22-year-old Alexa Krynicki. Medical personnel arrived and took Krynicki sustained to UMC for treatment of moderate injuries.
Meanwhile, Borunda and his 16-year-old passenger fled the scene by foot. Shortly after, police were able to locate and arrest them. Police found firearms on Borunda. Meanwhile, crews located his passenger in the 2000 block of 100th Street.
Medics took Borunda and his passenger to a nearby hospital for further treatment. After he was released, police took him to Lubbock County Detention Center and charged him with DUI, evading arrest, failure to stop and render aid, unlawful carry of a weapon, and a traffic warrant.
No other updates were made public, and the incident remains under active investigation.
