Two Drivers Injured in Semi-Truck Crash on US Highway 59 [Richmond, TX]
Four Semi-Trucks Collide Due to Icy Weather Conditions
RICHMOND, TX (February 5, 2025) – Early Tuesday morning, two drivers sustained injuries in a semi-truck crash on US Highway 59.
Richmond Police Officers were dispatched to the northbound lanes around 3:30 a.m., on January 21st.
According to troopers, the first 18-wheeler crashed and overturned due to black ice along the area, which caused the second semi-truck to crash into the first one.
A third and fourth semi-trucks jackknifed the two other semis, blocking the northbound lanes.
As a result of the collision, two of the drivers sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment.
Consequently, the surrounding lanes were blocked while the crew cleared the wreck. All lanes have been reopened since, and no other updates were made.
Severe weather conditions can significantly increase the risk of a dangerous situation for you, your passengers, and other drivers. When driving in conditions that involve heavy rain and strong wind, it is important to reduce driving distractions.
