Two LAPD Officers Hospitalized after Pedestrian Crash near Avalon Boulevard

LOS ANGELES, CA (February 5, 2025) – Wednesday, one person was killed and two officers were hurt in a hit-and-run on East Slauson Avenue. 

Authorities responded to the scene around 3:40 a.m., near Avalon Boulevard.

Upon arrival, responding crews pronounced the male victim dead at the scene. The victim’s name remains undisclosed to the public at this time.

While the two responding officers investigated the collision, a passing motorist the parked patrol vehicle. The two officers remained hospitalized in a stable condition. 

Police said the driver who struck the patrol vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators. 

Officials have not released any additional information about the suspect or the suspect’s vehicle. The Los Angeles Police Department continued to investigate the East Slauson Avenue hit-and-run.
