One Killed, Several Injured in Multi-Vehicle Accident on Harrison Street [San Francisco, CA]
1 Pronounced Dead after Multi-Vehicle Collision near 6th Street
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (February 5, 2025) – Sunday evening, a multi-vehicle accident on Harrison Street killed one victim and left several hurt.
Police responded to the scene around 6:10 p.m., on Harrison and 6th Streets, near Interstate Highway 280.
According to CHP, the seven-vehicle crash claimed the lives of one person and a dog. Multiple other patients were rushed to a hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
Investigators say one of the vehicles involved was an unoccupied Waymo robo-taxi. A Waymo spokesperson claimed that a multi-vehicle crash struck one of their autonomously operating vehicles from behind.
Moreover, the CHP is also investigating a separate hit-and-run crash involving a black Tesla before the vehicle pile-up on Harrison Street.
Investigators suspect the same Tesla was involved in both a multi-vehicle crash and a separate collision. Authorities detained the possible suspect driver, who is currently receiving treatment at the hospital.
San Francisco Officials will release additional information about the fatal Harrison Street multi-vehicle crash once available.
