One Dead, Three Hospitalized after Multi-Vehicle Collision near Lochinvar Avenue

SUNNYVALE, CA (February 5, 2025) – Wednesday night, one person was killed and three were hurt in a four-vehicle crash on Lawrence Expressway. 

The fatal collision happened around 5:05 p.m., at Lawrence Expressway and Lochinvar Avenue, near Super Kyo-Po Plaza. 

According to reports, one of the vehicles ended up on its roof, engulfed in flames.

Untenable fire conditions prevented the firefighters from rescuing the driver stuck in the vehicle, leaving them with fatal injuries. 

Meanwhile, paramedics transported the three other patients to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries. 

The identity of the deceased victim remains undisclosed to the public at this time. 

Investigators claimed that speed may have possibly played a factor in the incident. Sunnyvale Officials closed the Lawrence Expressway between Benton Street and Homestead Road for investigation.
