Driver and Passenger Pronounced Dead after Two-Car Crash near Rudy Road

TUCSON, AZ (February 4, 2025) – Wednesday afternoon, two victims were pronounced dead after a 2-car collision on Interstate 19.

Arizona Police Officers responded to the scene around 3:45 p.m., on the southbound lanes of the freeway near Rudy Road on January 15th.

For reasons under investigation, the driver of a passenger vehicle lost control and crashed into another car. As a result, the passenger vehicle overturned on the northbound lanes and overturned.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced two occupants from the first vehicle dead at the scene. Although, authorities have not yet released their name or place of residency.

Emergency crews shut down the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties.

At this time, it was unknown why the driver lost control, and an active investigation is still underway. Once available, more information will be provided to the public.
