One Killed, Two Injured in Single-Vehicle Collision near Franklin Avenue

LOS ANGELES, CA (February 4, 2025) – Early Wednesday, one man was killed and a boy was hurt in a solo-car accident on North Western Avenue.

The incident occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m., just south of Franklin Avenue at the 1836 block of North Western Avenue. 

Investigators say the driver of a southbound sedan attempted to turn left at the intersection and lost control. As a result, the driver crashed into nearby apartment building and stopped inside one of the units. 

Responding units from the Los Angeles Fire Department reported that a 50-year-old man and a 9-year-old boy were trapped under the vehicle. 

Despite life-saving efforts, medical personnel pronounced the man dead at the scene. Meanwhile, paramedics transported the juvenile patient to a local hospital in critical condition. 

A third patient, identified as a 34-year-old woman, was also hospitalized for treatment of minor injuries. 

At this time, the driver of the sedan is still at large. Police officers have yet to provide any information about the driver.
