Man Killed, Driver Arrested after DUI Pedestrian Crash near Joaquin Road
MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA (February 4, 2025) – Sunday morning, police arrested Erick Barrios after a fatal hit-and-run on Amphitheatre Parkway.
Police officers responded to the scene around 7:15 a.m., near Joaquin Road.
Responding officers say an unidentified vehicle hit the male pedestrian and drove away from the scene, leaving the man injured on the roadway.
Paramedics transported the man to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Following the crash, police officers located the fleeing suspect a short distance away from the site of the incident.
As a result, authorities booked 42-year-old Erick Barrios of Campbell into Santa Clara Main Jail for one count of murder and several other charges.
The Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased victim once available.
