18-Year-Old Man Fatally Struck in Semi-Truck Collision near Mile Post 212

SKAGIT COUNTY, WA (January 30, 2025) – Monday afternoon, one teenager was killed in a street racing crash on Interstate 5.

Police officers responded to the northbound lanes of the freeway near milepost 212 on January 20th.

According to reports, the 18-year-old driver of a black Infiniti and the 20-year-old male driver of a Dodge Charger were racing at high speeds, weaving in and out of traffic.

Eventually, the Infiniti rear-ended a semi-truck, leaving the Infiniti driver with life-threatening injuries. Due to the extent of his condition, medics pronounced the teen Infiniti driver dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the Dodge driver remained in the area and cooperated with the investigation.

Following preliminary duties, police arrested the Dodge driver and charged him with vehicular homicide and his bail was set at $100,000.

No identities were revealed by the authorities at this time, and the fatal racing crash on Interstate 5 remains under investigation.
