26-Year-Old Male Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Drunk Driver near East 6th Street

BORGER, TX (January 30, 2025) – Saturday, Arley Morales was died and Alyssa Moneymaker was arrested after a DUI crash on North Harvey Street.

Police officers responded to the scene just before 2:00 a.m., at the 600 block of North Harvey Street near East 6th Street on January 18th.

Investigators say a vehicle struck Morales on the roadway, leaving him with life-threatening injuries.

Paramedics transported the man to Golden Plains Community Hospital for further treatment. Despite life-saving efforts, medics pronounced 26-year-old Morales deceased at the hospital.

During preliminary duties, authorities identified the involved driver as 23-year-old Alyssa Moneymaker, of Borger. Authorities determined that she was intoxicated at the time.

As a result, police arrested and took Moneymaker into Hutchinson County Jail where she faced intoxication manslaughter charges. No other information is available, and the incident remains under investigation.
