Man and Woman Hospitalized after Plane Crash near Horseshoe Bend Road

COLUMBIA, CA (January 30, 2025) – Thursday afternoon, two people sustained injuries in a small plane collision on Horseshoe Bend Road.

According to the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office together with the Federal Aviation Administration, the incident happened on January 23rd around 3:15 p.m.

Authorities learned that a Cessna 172 was occupied by a man and a woman, and crashed into a field near Horseshoe Bend Road. However, further circumstances leading up to the incident remain unclear.

Crews say the female occupant was able to extricate herself from the wrecked plane. Meanwhile, first responders worked to free the man.
