One Pronounced Dead after Suspected DUI Collision near Doris Avenue

OXNARD, CA (January 28, 2025) – Saturday evening, one victim was killed and two were injured in a DUI two-vehicle crash on Victoria Avenue. 

Police officers responded to the scene around 9:45 p.m., near Doris Avenue.

The Oxnard Police Department says a northbound Nissan Cube broadsided a Toyota Sienna van. Responding paramedics transported the 55-year-old Oxnard man driving the Toyota and their passenger to the Ventura County Medical Center. 

Despite the life-saving efforts of the medical personnel, the passenger succumbed to their injuries. Meanwhile, the Toyota driver remained hospitalized in critical but stable condition. 

The 19-year-old man Nissan driver was also transported to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Police eventually booked the male driver into county jail for a suspected DUI.
