53-Year-Old San Bernardino Woman Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Collision near Aspel Road

MENIFEE, CA (January 23, 2025) – Sunday morning, Luica Delgado was fatally struck in a hit-and-run pedestrian crash on McCall Boulevard. 

Authorities responded to the scene shortly before 7:00 a.m., just west of Aspel Road.

Investigators say the driver of a westbound vehicle struck a woman who was walking along McCall. 

Upon impact, the involved driver fled the scene without rendering aid to the victim or contacting police.

Shortly after, a driver of a passing vehicle spotted the pedestrian lying in the roadway and contacted emergency services. 

Despite life-saving efforts, first responders pronounced the woman dead at the scene. Officers later identified the deceased victim as 54-year-old Delgado, of San Bernardino. 

On Monday, crews managed to locate and arrest the hit-and-run suspect and track his Honda sedan with severe front-end damage.

As a result, 28-year-old Miguel Angel Castillo of Menifee was taken into custody and was eventually released after posting a $75,000 bond.
