Man Arrested, Other Drivers Sought after Deadly Pedestrian Crash near East Cross Avenue
TULARE, CA (January 23, 2025) – Sunday, Emishia Shakira Hodges died and Dominick Nunez was arrested after a crash on North Mooney Boulevard.
Police officers responded to the scene around 8:15 p.m., near East Cross Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers learned that a female pedestrian was struck by a northbound vehicle on Money Boulevard. The driver then fled the scene but later returned to turn himself in.
Despite life-saving efforts, first responders pronounced the woman dead at the scene. She was later identified as 32-year-old Emishia Shakira Hodges.
The suspect, ID’d as 26-year-old Dominick Nunez of Visalia, was arrested for felony hit-and-run.
At this time, authorities are searching for several other drivers believed to have struck Hodges and flee the scene.
Officials are asking those who witnessed the North Mooney Boulevard hit-and-run to call the Tulare Police Department at (559) 684-4290.
