4 Dead, Sean Guynes Arrested after Stop-Sign Accident on Floyd Avenue [Fresno County, CA]
32-Year-Old Man Arrested after Fatal Two-Car Collision near Shaw Avenue
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (January 23, 2025) – Friday, Sean Guynes was arrested after a stop-sign crash on Floyd Avenue that killed four others.
The incident occurred near Shaw Avenue around 10:35 p.m.
Based on reports, 32-year-old Guynes was driving a Ford van was south and on Floyd and failed to yield at the stop-sign for the intersection. As a result, the Ford collided with a westbound Nissan Altima on Shaw Avenue, which had the right of way.
The collision sent the two vehicles into the southwest shoulder of the intersection, before both vehicles became engulfed in flames.
Responding EMTs declared the driver and a passenger of the Nissan, along with the driver and one passenger from the Ford dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet released their identities.
Meanwhile, two men, ages 32 and 35, occupying the Nissan, sustained moderate injuries and were treated at the scene.
According to the CHP investigation, Guynes initially gave false information, claiming that he was a passenger in the van. However, evidence confirmed that he was the driver and intoxicated at the time of the incident.
The Felony Complaint submitted in Superior Court includes six charges against Guynes: four counts of murder, one count of failing to fulfill his duty after a fatal collision, and one count of driving with a suspended license due to a prior DUI conviction, resulting in injury.
At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway.
