60-Year-Old Man Fatally Injured in Pedestrian vs Car Collision near Main Street

LOS ANGELES, CA (January 22, 2025) – Early Sunday morning, a hit-and-run scooter collision on East Manchester Avenue killed one man. 

The incident occurred at approximately 1:00 a.m., at the 100 block of East Manchester Avenue near Main Street in South Los Angeles. 

Based on the initial report, the driver of a westbound vehicle hit a man who was riding a scooter in the same direction.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, responding EMTs pronounced the victim dead at the scene. The Los Angeles Police Department only identified the deceased victim as a 60-year-old man. 

Following the crash, the driver involved in the incident fled the scene. Investigators have yet to release any information about the suspect of the suspect’s vehicle. 

Anyone who witnessed the East Manchester Avenue hit-and-run crash is encouraged to call the LAPD as soon as possible.
