One Killed, Another Injured in Motorcycle Collision near Chimineas Ranch
CUYAMA, CA (January 22, 2025) – Saturday afternoon, one victim was killed and another was hurt in a motorcycle accident on Highway 166.
California Highway Patrol officers received calls around 2:30 p.m., near Chimineas Ranch and Spanish Ranch.
Based on the initial investigation, the rider of a motorcycle lost control while negotiating a curve and crashed into a fence.
Responding paramedics from the Santa Maria Fire Deparment declared the passenger of the motorcycle dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the other rider was transported to Marian Regional Medical Center for further treatment of major injuries.
At this time, the identity of the deceased passenger remains undisclosed to the public.
According to CHP Santa Maria, alcohol is a suspected factor in the incident. San Luis Obispo Officials will provide more information regarding the fatal Highway 166 motorcycle crash once available.
