12-Year-Old Male Juvenile Injured in Car vs Bicycle Collision near Broadway Avenue

STANISLAUS COUNTY, CA (January 21, 2025) – Tuesday, a boy was hurt and Maria Torres was involved in a bicycle accident on Salida Boulevard. 

California Highway Patrol officers received reports around 6:25 p.m., near Broadway Avenue.

According to investigators, a male juvenile on a bicycle entered the intersection against a red light while heading east. 

Consequently, the boy was struck by a 2019 Acura sedan that was heading north on Salida Boulevard through a green light. 

Responding officers discovered the young boy lying along the roadway next to the Acura sedan with visible damages from the crash. 

Medics quickly transported the 12-year-old boy to Doctors Medical Center for treatment of major injuries. Police said the boy was wearing his helmet at the time of the incident. 

Authorities later identified the driver of the Acura as 28-year-old Maria Torres, of Salida.
