One Pronounced Dead after Suspected DUI Crash near South Tracy Boulevard

TRACY, CA (January 20, 2025) – Early Wednesday morning, one person was killed in a head-on collision on Highway 4 in San Joaquin County. 

Police officers responded to the scene shortly after 12:30 a.m., just west of South Tracy Boulevard.

According to the initial investigation, a Ford F-250 pickup truck crossed the double yellow lines while traveling west. 

As a result, the Ford collided head-on with a Jeep Compass traveling in the opposite direction. 

First responders pronounced the driver of the Jeep deceased at the scene. Their name remains undisclosed to the public at this time. 

Following the crash, police determined that the pickup-truck driver was under the influence of alcohol. Paramedics transported the truck driver to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.

Tracy Officials continue to investigate the fatal Highway 4 head-on crash.
