36-Year-Old Reckless Driver Pronounced Dead after Stop-Sign Crash near County Road 7150

LUBBOCK, TX (January 15, 2025) – Saturday evening, Fabian Vitolas was killed in a stop-sign accident on Highway 87.

Around 9:35 p.m., dispatchers received calls near County Road 7150 on January 4th.

Troopers say 36-year-old Vitolas was driving a pickup-truck north and failed to stop for a posted stop-sign at the intersection.

As a result, the truck hit a Dodge Durango driven by 22-year-old Christopher Dunn with 40-year-old Amanda Rodriguez as a passenger.

Moreover, Dunn suffered serious injuries, and Rodriguez sustained minor wounds. Medics took both of them to University Medical Center for further treatment of their injuries.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, paramedics later pronounced Vitolas deceased. No other information was added by the authorities, and further investigation is ongoing.
