Elderly Couple Killed in Two-Vehicle Collision near Farm-to-Market Road 179
HALE COUNTY, TX (January 14, 2025) – Saturday, Robert Curtis Dennis and Mary Hatley Dennis died in a semi-truck crash on US Highway 70.
Dispatchers received calls just before 5:00 p.m., near Farm-to-Market Road 179 on December 28th.
Troopers say Robert was driving 2022 Chevrolet pickup-truck north with his wife, Mary as a passenger.
Per reports, Robert failed to yield to the right of way, and struck a 1997 Peterbilt truck with a semi-trailer, driven by 26-year-old Colton Rabb.
Due to the impact of the crash, responding medics pronounced 96-year-old Robert and 86-year-old Mary dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, Rabb did not sustain any injuries from the crash.
Authorities have refrained from disclosing any further details about the crash at this time; however, they will disseminate more information once available.
