31-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Collision near Brookmill Drive
FREMONT, CA (January 14, 2025) – Early Monday morning, Nicholas David Karaberis was fatally struck in a pedestrian accident on Decoto Road.
Fremont Police Officers received calls around 5:10 a.m., near Brookmill Drive on December 21st.
According to troopers, the driver of an unidentified vehicle was heading east on Decoto towards the Brookmill Drive intersection.
There, the vehicle hit Karaberis who was outside of a marked crosswalk.
Medical personnel located Karabis on the roadway with life-threatening injuries. Despite life-saving efforts, crews later pronounced 31-year-old Karaberis deceased at the scene.
In addition, the involved driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Police say that alcohol did not play a role in the crash.
