63-Year-Old Costa Mesa Man Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Accident near Clara Street

SANTA ANA, CA (January 13, 2025) – Friday, George Estrada Tellez was fatally struck by two vehicles in a pedestrian crash on Center Street.

Police officers responded to the scene around 6:00 p.m., near Clara and West 1st Street.

Upon arrival, Orange County fire personnel learned that two vehicles struck a male pedestrian as he was walking in the eastbound lanes of 1st Street.

Responding emergency personnel transported the victim to a local hospital where he died from his injuries. Authorities later identified the deceased pedestrian as 63-year-old Tellez, of Costa Mesa. 

Officers claimed that both drivers stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Police do not suspect drugs or alcohol to be a factor in the incident. 

Santa Ana Officials are asking those who witnessed the fatal Center Street pedestrian crash to call the department’s Traffic Division as soon as possible.
