46-Year-Old Woman Dies After Being Struck by an Impaired Driver near Buckeye Road
PHOENIX, AZ (January 13, 2025) – Monday evening, Christina Hertzbach was killed in a pedestrian crash on 17th Avenue.
Emergency crews responded to the scene around 7:45 p.m., near Buckeye Road on December 23rd.
Investigators say the driver of a westbound vehicle struck Hertzbach as she was crossing mid-block.
Upon arrival, medics located the female pedestrian with critical injuries and took her to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
Despite life-saving efforts, medics later pronounced 46-year-old Hertzbach deceased.
Meanwhile, the involved driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Troopers determined that the driver was impaired at that time. However, no charges were released by officials.
