68-Year-Old Woman Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Accident near Main Street
SANTA MARIA, CA (January 9, 2025) – Friday evening, one woman was fatally struck in a pedestrian collision on Russell Avenue.
Police officers responded to the scene around 6:12 p.m., near Main Street.
Upon arrival, first responders discovered the female victim along the eastbound lanes of Main Street with critical injuries. Responding paramedics transported her pedestrian to Marian Medical Center where she later died from her injuries.
Santa Maria Officials only identified the deceased victim as a 68-year-old woman.
According to the Santa Maria Police Department, the driver involved remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.
Authorities do not suspect drugs or alcohol to be a factor in the incident. The identity of the deceased victim remains undisclosed to the public, pending notification from the next of kin.
