81-Year-Old Woman Pronounced Dead After Surgery on Mark Road

PIMA COUNTY, AZ (January 9, 2025) – Wednesday afternoon, a 2-car accident on West Valencia Road resulted in the death of Martha Saldivar.

The incident happened on January 1st around 3:00 p.m., at the intersection of West Valencia Road and Mark Road.

According to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department troopers, 81-year-old Saldivar was driving west on the road and veered into oncoming lanes.

There, she collided head-on with another vehicle occupied by two people.

First responders located Saldivar bleeding inside her vehicle. Paramedics transported her to a local hospital for evaluation where she later passed away during surgery.

Also, the two occupants from the other vehicle were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officials have not provided any additional information to the public at this time.
